Ambuja Cements Announces Rs 1,000 Crore Investment for New Grinding Unit in Jharkhand
Ambuja Cements, part of the Adani Group, plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in establishing a 4 MTPA cement grinding unit in Godda, Jharkhand, aiming to enhance circular economy efforts and create employment for 2,500 individuals.
Ambuja Cements, now under the Adani Group's umbrella, has unveiled plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in setting up a new cement grinding unit in Godda district, Jharkhand. The proposed 4 Million Tonne Per Annum (MTPA) facility is expected to receive the necessary approvals shortly. This strategic move is designed to be in close proximity to Adani Power (Jharkhand) Ltd, facilitating the environmentally safe disposal of fly ash and contributing to the circular economy.
The project is anticipated to generate both direct and indirect employment opportunities for over 2,500 people, reinforcing Ambuja Cements' commitment to community development and sustainable practices. Currently, Ambuja Cements operates two cement plants in Jharkhand with a combined capacity of 6 MTPA.
Ajay Kapur, CEO of Cement Business at Ambuja Cements, expressed optimism about the project, highlighting Jharkhand's potential in terms of resources, infrastructure, and skilled manpower. The company's initiative aligns with its broader goals of expanding its footprint and supporting sustainable development in the region.
This announcement comes on the heels of Ambuja Cements and its subsidiary ACC Ltd's recent acquisition of Sanghi Industries Ltd, which boasts a capacity of 74.6 MTPA across 18 integrated cement manufacturing plants and 14 cement grinding units nationwide.
