According to data from DANE (National Administrative Department of Statistics), Colombia's cement production in November 2023 saw a substantial decrease of 6.8% compared to the same month in 2022. The total production of gray cement was 1,112.0 thousand tons.

The report further indicates that the domestic market received 1,103.2 thousand tons of gray cement in November 2023, marking a 1.3% decrease from November 2022. When compared to November 2019, the production of gray cement nationally showed a marginal decline of 0.1%.

From January to November 2023, the total production of gray cement reached 12,919.8 thousand tons, representing a 3.1% decrease compared to the same period in the previous year. Shipments to the national market during this period totaled 11,800.1 thousand tons, showing a negative variation of 4.7% compared to January-November 2022.

In the period from December 2022 to November 2023, Colombia's gray cement production amounted to 14,202.9 thousand tons, a decrease of 2.7% compared to the same period in the previous year.

This decline in cement production reflects the challenges faced by the construction sector in Colombia and indicates a cautious outlook for the industry.
