In 2023, the Madeira region in Portugal recorded its highest cement sales in twelve years.

The Madeira region of Portugal experienced a significant increase in cement sales in 2023, reaching a total of 161.3 thousand tons. This figure represents the highest volume of cement sales in the region in the last twelve years, marking a 2.7% increase compared to 2022, which saw sales of 157.1 thousand tons.

Additionally, the value of cement sold in the region in 2023 amounted to 20.1 million euros, showing an annual increase of 13.9%. In the fourth quarter of 2023 alone, the quantity of cement sold in the first sale increased by 19.5% compared to the same period in the previous year, while the sales value grew by 36.0%.

This surge in cement sales in Madeira indicates a robust growth in the construction sector in the region, reflecting the overall economic development and increased construction activities.
