The Green Cement Technology Tracker, a joint initiative by the Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) and the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), has broadened its monitoring scope to include calcined clay kilns.

This addition complements the tracker's existing focus on carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) technologies, underlining a comprehensive strategy toward the cement sector's decarbonization. Calcined clay, known for its lower CO2 emissions during production, emerges as a promising material in reducing the cement industry's carbon footprint.

This move aligns with the broader goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, demonstrating the industry's commitment to sustainable practices and technological innovation.
