Lee Hyun-jun Re-elected as Chairman of the Korea Cement Association
Lee Hyun-jun, President and CEO of Ssangyong C&E, has been re-elected as the chairman of the Korea Cement Association during its 61st regular general meeting held at the Namsan Hyatt Hotel on February 23, 2024.
Under Lee Hyun-jun's leadership, the Korea Cement Association aims to tackle the cement industry's pressing challenges, including carbon neutrality and greenhouse gas reduction, and improving the recycling conditions of circular resources. Lee, a Seoul National University graduate who joined Ssangyong C&E in 1985, has held key positions across various departments, including management planning, logistics, production plants, legal affairs, public relations, and auditing, before being appointed as the chief executive officer in 2017.
In his acceptance speech, Lee emphasized his commitment to addressing the cement industry's environmental responsibilities and regulatory challenges. He pledged to focus on enhancing the recycling conditions for circular resources, crucial for solving national environmental issues and achieving carbon neutrality. Lee also promised to ensure that the cement industry remains stable and sustainable, fulfilling its role as a national key industry amidst increasing environmental regulations.
