Morocco has embarked on a strategic venture to construct the largest cement factory in Africa, situated in Mali, as part of its broader initiative to bolster relations with African nations. This ambitious project, aligning with the Royal vision of Morocco to deepen its footprint on the continent, involves a group of Moroccan investors who have committed to building a giant cement production facility in the Sisako region, southern Mali. The factory, which broke ground this week, is expected to have an annual production capacity of between one and two million tons.

With a total investment of 50 million dollars, this venture is a collaboration between the Malian government and the Moroccan Group "Ciment Afrique" (CIMAF). The factory is projected to be operational within the next 24 months, covering a 20-hectare area and creating 2,500 direct and indirect jobs. Strategically located near the border with Burkina Faso, where CIMAF already operates two cement plants, the new facility aims to export cement to all African countries, significantly enhancing the region's industrial and economic landscape.
