Morocco's Cement Deliveries Reach 12.51 Million Tonnes in 2023

In Morocco, cement deliveries have witnessed a slight increase, reaching 12.51 million tonnes by the end of December 2023, according to the Ministry of National Spatial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing, and City Policy.

The Moroccan cement industry has shown a modest growth in 2023, with total deliveries amounting to 12.51 million tonnes by the end of December, marking a 0.19% increase compared to the previous year. This data was released by the Ministry of National Spatial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing, and City Policy in its monthly report on the evolution of cement deliveries.

The breakdown of these deliveries shows that the distribution segment accounted for 7.54 million tonnes. This was followed by deliveries to the ready-mix concrete (BPE) sector, which amounted to over 2.55 million tonnes, and to the precast concrete (PREFA) sector with 1.22 million tonnes. The building sector received 453,495 tonnes, while the infrastructure sector received 744,202 tonnes.

In December alone, the cement industry delivered 1.12 million tonnes, a significant increase of 19.1% compared to the same month in 2022. These deliveries were distributed among various sectors, including distribution (641,266 tonnes), BPE (255,551 tonnes), PREFA (111,552 tonnes), building (34,792 tonnes), and infrastructure (79,130 tonnes).
