Ramco Cements launches Gati Shakti cargo terminal project
The Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal Project by Ramco Cements, aimed at environment-friendly transportation of crushed limestone, was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The project is located at Jayanthipuram, Jaggaiahpet Mandal, NTR district.
The Gati Shakti Terminal Project, a pioneering initiative by Ramco Cements Ltd., was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a significant milestone in the cement industry for its environment-friendly approach to material transportation.
Located in Jayanthipuram, Jaggaiahpet Mandal, N T R District, Andhra Pradesh, this project facilitates the transportation of crushed limestone from the mines of Ramco Cements in Budawada to its integrated cement facility in Jayanthipuram.
The project stands out for its use of electric locomotives to transport limestone through railway wagons, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable practices. The transportation route covers a distance of 8.3 kilometers, including 4.9 km on the South Central Main Railway Line connecting Mellacheruvu to Jaggaiahpet stations and an additional 3.4 km on dedicated sidings established by Ramco Cements.
This initiative aligns with the Dedicated Freight Corridor under the Gati Shakti Mission, highlighting Ramco Cements' dedication to enhancing operational efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.
