Body: The German government has launched a public call, committing up to R$ 136 million (around 25 million euros) for projects aimed at decarbonizing the steel and cement industries in Brazil.

This initiative welcomes proposals from companies worldwide until May 28, encouraging scientific studies, long-term business models, and innovative approaches to low-emission production.

This funding, provided as a donation through the International Climate Initiative (IKI), marks a revival of bilateral calls after a five-year hiatus, aligning with the objectives set at COP28 and the Brazil-Germany Joint Declaration on Partnership for a Just Ecological Transformation.
