Pakistan's cement exports have seen a significant increase of 49.70% in value and 88.98% in quantity during the first seven months of the financial year 2023-24, compared to the same period last year.

According to the latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan's cement industry has experienced substantial growth in exports during July-January of the financial year 2023-24. The value of cement exports reached $150.652 million, marking a 49.70% increase from $100.635 million during the same period in the previous year. In terms of quantity, cement exports surged by 88.98%, from 2,061,713 metric tons to 3,896,206 metric tons.

Despite this impressive annual growth, the month of January 2024 saw a slight decrease of 1.98% in cement exports compared to January 2023, with exports totaling $15.025 million. Additionally, there was a month-on-month dip of 32.83% in January 2024 compared to December 2023. This fluctuation underscores the dynamic nature of the global cement market and the challenges faced by exporters in maintaining consistent growth amidst varying international demand and market conditions.
