UltraTech Embraces Floating Solar Panels for Re-Boost
UltraTech, a leading cement manufacturer in India, has implemented floating solar panels to enhance its renewable energy initiatives.
UltraTech Cement's Awarpur Cement Works has initiated a sustainable energy project by installing floating solar panels on water reservoirs, with a capacity of 4.096 MWp, aiming to generate 6,173 MWh of solar energy annually.
This move will significantly reduce CO2 emissions, equivalent to the benefit of 2.7 lakh mature trees, and address water evaporation and land scarcity issues. UltraTech is committed to achieving 100% renewable energy usage by 2050, with plans to increase green energy in its mix to 85% by 2030.
Currently, UltraTech has 719 MW of green energy capacity, demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
