Firma Corporation, a prominent conglomerate in the Philippines, has made a significant move in the cement industry by announcing a new partnership. On January 12, the corporation's subsidiary, Philcement, entered into a manufacturing and sales agreement with Petra Cement, a fellow domestic player in the cement industry.

This strategic alliance is set to enhance the supply chain capabilities of Philcement. Under the agreement, Philcement will take over the operations of Petra Cement's factory, encompassing both distribution and sales aspects. Petra Cement operates a cement factory equipped with grinding facilities in North Zamboanga, Mindanao Island, with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons. The factory primarily supplies cement to the northern regions of Mindanao.

This partnership marks a significant step for Firma Corporation in strengthening its position in the Philippine manufacturing sector, particularly in the cement industry. The collaboration is expected to streamline operations and expand the reach of both companies in the local market.
