Fatih Yücelik Re-elected as Chairman of TÜRKÇİMENTO

Fatih Yücelik, leading the Turkish Cement Manufacturers' Association (TÜRKÇİMENTO), has been re-elected as Chairman during the association's 66th Ordinary General Assembly held in Ankara. Yücelik highlighted the cement industry's commitment to becoming a pioneer in low-carbon production by focusing on green transformation, the use of alternative fuels and raw materials, energy efficiency, and digitalization.

In his address, Yücelik shared that cement production increased by 9% last year, reaching 80 million tons, with domestic sales rising by approximately 20% to 65 million tons. However, exports saw a 28% decrease to 19.7 million tons, comprising 15.7 million tons of cement and 4 million tons of clinker. Despite this, the sector achieved a foreign sales value of 1 billion 265 million dollars, a decrease of 18% from the previous year. Yücelik expressed optimism that, barring significant external economic fluctuations, the sector could maintain its performance levels in both domestic and international sales for the current year.

The Turkish cement industry, according to Yücelik, plays a vital role in the national economy through employment, investment, exports, infrastructure development, technological advancement, and sustainability efforts. He emphasized the industry's focus on aligning with the green transformation, utilizing alternative fuels and raw materials, enhancing energy efficiency, and adopting digital technologies to reduce carbon emissions and lead in sustainable production.
